Rowing Pace Chart

What is Rowing Pace Chart?
A rowing pace chart provides quick conversion between split time (per 500m), power output (watts), and projected finish times for standard distances. Because the relationship between split time and watts is cubic (watts = 2.80 / pace cubed), small improvements in split time require large power increases — a pace chart makes these relationships immediately visible. Rowers use pace charts for race planning (determining the split needed for a target 2K time), training prescription (setting interval paces relative to 2K pace), and performance comparison (converting between splits and watts). Most pace charts also show the percentage increase in power needed to lower your split by each second, helping athletes understand the diminishing returns of chasing faster times.
How Watta Uses Rowing Pace Chart
Watta provides built-in calculators that serve as dynamic pace charts — converting between splits, watts, and projected times for any distance. The app also tracks your actual splits over time, showing how your pace has improved and what watts those improvements represent.
